Media has a lot to do with it when it's all we watch on TV, read in Newspapers and see in the Movies... we've become some how numb to it. As far as the <BR/>"for sale signs", with a worsening economy signs really are going up every where.. It's the For Sale--Bank Owned, which means foreclosures.
