The Baltimore Book Festival (and Bill Hicks)

Baltimore Book Festival

Back in the days before kids, I used to read a lot of books. Now I read the Internet. And it's really not the fault of books or because I love nothing better than browsing Hot Chicks With Douchebags. It's just that kids do stuff like that to you. They lower your concentration. By the time I get to my bedtime reading routine, I'm so mentally exhausted that all I want to do is go online.

But it really doesn't have to be this way. To get in shape, you need to exercise!

Backintheoldendays, I worked a booth at the Baltimore Book Festival. It was cool to meet readers and it was cool to feel a part of the other Baltimore, the McNulty-Free zone.

You know, I remember an old Bill Hicks joke about being spotted reading a book in a diner in one of those square states, and a waitress asks him, "What are you reading for?" then telling the crowd, "Looks like we got ourselves a READER!"

Head on to Baltimore Book Festival, starting September 24th.

Looks like we got ourselves a READER!

I should really get that on a t-shirt.
