In which I visit the Sun's Talk Forums. Because I must have been a terrible sinner in my previous life.

Stephanie C. Rawlings-Blake

I just had to go there, didn't I...

What do the worst of the worst, the ugliest of the ugliest, the soulless creeps who inhabit the Baltimore Sun's Talk Forums think about the mayor's Guilty verdict? Well, actually, they have more interesting angles to examine. Namely, the picture of Stephanie Rawlings-Blake from the Sun.

Here they are, in their own words:

What a prize she is.

"Precious" with makeup and wig.

Ugly and huge.

the overall effect is of a guy in drag...and not a very nice person.

Looks like a self important third world back water leader to me.

What a swamp moose she is...

Good God she's ugly, just like her late father Pete Rawlings.

"Rawlings" as in a baseball glove? Her mouth would make a nice catcher's mit.

Imagine the lipstick stains left when she's drinking soda out of a cup.

(Why do I see "Detroit" in Baltimore's future?)

Let me put it another way: most people around the world would look at that picture and KNOW that Baltimore is in big trouble. 'Nuff said.

And of course someone had to ruin everything. The one person who thinks these forums have room for a normal discussion. Damn you, dmoore28!

Quite an immature thread. She is the City Council President sitting in a budget meeting. That's what the picture says to me. Unbelievable.

Umm, this is a deleted scene from The Wire--right? It sure sounds like it.

Unfortunate and immature. Also, way off! I think she's a beautiful woman!

FishHawk, it's sometimes difficult to tell the difference between real life politics and The Wire. The current Mayor was definitely a character in the series (and the Governor too, kinda).

MommyK, right? And it's not just racism. These people get angry when they see a strong woman.

Some people just call it like they see it. If you don't like it go play somewhere else where the comments are sanitized.

Anonymous, it's cute that people call their racism and xenophobia, "non-PC language," but it's shameful that the Sun allows it to happen. This is not an issue of free speech. People have a right to be racist and say racist things, but when the Sun moderators delete petty arguments between forum members while leaving the racist comments stand, it implies the Sun doesn't have a problem with racism on its site (and it's the Sun's site, not a Tea Party or Stormfront forum). I don't have a problem with people expressing their opinions, no matter how disgusting they are. But the Sun should have a problem when it gives a platform for these views.
