How Will Ehrlich Know If Republicans Want Him to Run Again?
The recent GOP wins in VA and in NJ may push former Governor Robert Ehrlich to run again in 2010. Personally, I can't wait. In fact, I love this idea so much, that I've decided to give Ehrlich a great tip that could help him make up his mind.
Usually, a politician decides whether to run for office after sniffing around, getting some polls done, and talking to potential supporters. But does Ehrlich really need to do that? There must be a better way of knowing whether moderate Republicans have forgiven Ehrlich for supporting Andy Harris and whether the extremists have forgiven him for being a relatively moderate governor.
The solution can be found in the proven method of spying. Just like Ehrlich previously spied on leftist groups (gay rights, anti-war, anti-death penalty, even PETA), now it's time for him to spy on conservatives. Infiltrate the Young Republican Club. Tap their phones. Plant some moles in a local NRA meeting. A man who had the guts to spy on his constituents because they were organizing protests against him should be brave enough to spy on his own people, right?

Ehrlich only runs if Schaefer croaks soon.
He'll be the legacy candidate.
The Maryland GOP wants to knock out O'Malley. Ehrlich is their best shot for this and they'll suck it up and vote for him to do it.
Baltimore Chop, it's easy to forget. I saw a video of Bush giving a speech today, and for a second, I didn't even hate him.
History Punk, you see... It's that whole spying-on-Marylanders thing... How can he be viable after something like that? I guess as long as he only spied on Leftists that's okay by Republicans.
I believe that they want O'Malley out of there bad.If the Republican party don't get behind Ehrlich,I believe that the Republican Part in the state of Maryland will be done. You will see a third party crop up in the state.I hope they don't shoot themselves in the foot.I am listening to his show right now on WBAL,while I am writing this post.
Michael, thing is, I don't know who Ehrlich is after the 2008 campaign. He supposedly ran the state as a moderate, but then he joined the "Obama is a Communist" extremists. Still, the way the Party is going right now, even with the Communist remarks, Ehrlich might be too moderate for the Litmus-Test Republican Party.
