Bullets

Maybe if I continue to pray for rain on weekends I'll end up avoiding mowing the lawn for the entire year?

Went to a bar called "Friends" on Fells Point. Surprisingly decent for the area.

If you go to the official Baltimore site and click on "311 Online," the link for city services, you get this screen:

Baltimore 311

Which means there are no more city services in Baltimore. Ever. Pick your own trash, losers. Where do you think you live, Howard County?

Have a good week.

A commentor just left a link to a video of David Simon commenting about what he loved about Baltimore, and I think that you and your readers might really appreciate it. Fells Point is most honorably mentioned, along with many other wonderful attributes of your great city. Yeah, I realize that this particular post of yours is pointing to it not being such a great city, but it was done in love--right?

Fels Point, love that area. Always one of the places we go when we come to visit our daughter. Will have to ask her if she's familiar with Friends.

FishHawk, thanks. That's a really cool video. I'll put it up here in a later post. I liked what he said about DC. We were there last week, and my wife said she liked it. I told her basically what Simon said. Baltimore is a city, while DC is a place politicians work in. It has museums and power, but it has no real character.

Sandy, Fells Point could have been great if it had some more parking... And there hasn't been one time when I didn't see a drunk driver leaving a parking spot and hitting the car in front. And then driving away. But it has Soundgarden, which is a great CD store, and it has a place you can sit and point at a large warehouse and say to out of towners, "You know on the second season of the Wire, the team was in this industrial warehouse? That's where it was filmed!"
