Indictments

The fun thing about watching The Wire (I'm on season 3. Don't tell me what happened), is that I get to know what's going to happen in the city by watching the show.

I was thinking the other day about "Amsterdam," the Free Zone the police set, where they can turn a blind eye to violent-free drug dealing, and I was wondering if that had any basis in reality. But then I thought about it more, and really the whole war on drugs is one big blind eye, only without the needle exchange they have on the show. Sure, every once in a while they catch some poor addict, but really, they don't care about the addicts, and they don't care about the corners being safe. If they did, they would have legalized drugs.

OMG The Wire, easily one of the best shows ever. I cried when it ended, and I won't spoil it for you, almost did just now. OK backing away slowly:)

I already know the truth: All the actors are British! (or at least Bell. And McNulty. And Carcetti).

If not you, someone else will tell me. I'm not very lucky with these things.

They're all outstanding, but Season 3 is the most riveting of Seasons 1-4 (I have yet to see Season 5 though).

People had told me to watch The Wire for a long time, and I never did, until I started working in a jail and everything became real.

It is a great show.
