As if Baltimore wasn't confusing enough.
We have race confusion, Block-by-block segregation, an inner-city highway that cuts the city in half, blue lights that let people know where it's unsafe to commit crimes, sinking rowhouses, and a public education system that at times seems to be a model of the no-child-left-scam, and at other times seems only fitting for an HBO special.
And now, to add to the confusion, we have a Montessori School.
And it's easy to remain cynical. More charter schools, after all, take our attention away from problems with public schools.
Still, it's hard to ignore the benefits a Montessori school could bring to the community. "Integrated curriculum" and "peace education" are things we desperately need in this city. And you know what? I don't have to be a contrarian all the time.

and oh, thanks for droppin by my blog..
Hey, thanks!
But don't get me wrong. I think marriage could be great, but putting a pro-marriage message on a billboard seems a bit too much. So I'm just proud of the people in my city for fooling around with this billboard. And I'm equally proud of my cell phone camera for being there when I needed her.
The first Montessori School in Baltimore was on Liberty Heights Ave. in the 1960s.
Anonymous, I only watched the news when it happened a year ago, which seemed pretty straightforward at the time. You might know more than me and more than the news report, but maybe previous Montessori schools were only kindergartens while this is also for older kids? I really don't know.
